Anthurium “Red Raspberry” F2
Parent Generation: ATPB Red Crystallinum from NSE Tropicals x ATPB ZaraxMichelle from Doc Block
ATPB = All the Plant Babies, to distinguish these specific mother plants from those of other breeders

HOW DID THIS CROSS BEGIN?
MEET THE P GENERATION:
This cross started off in 2021 when I bred the P (parental) generation together. In 2021, no one had crossed these two plants before; this was more exciting than a collaboration between Rhianna and Beyonce.
Above: ATPB Red Crystallinum acquired from NSE Tropicals, and ATPB ZaraxMichelle acquired from Doc Block.
They produced a beautiful batch of F1 seedlings which I labelled under the hashtag #AnthuriumRedRaspberry on instagram.
About #Anthurium Red Raspberry F1:
Leaf Texure:
This hybrid has smooth velvety leaves like the parents.
Leaf Color:
Emerging leaf colors vary from dark purple, bright raspberry magenta, deep red to brownish-red depending on the seedling. I have culled many of the brownish-red emergent leaf seedlings as they are not exhibiting the desired trait of a bright raspberry or purple emergent leaf color that I was breeding for.
All leaves end up maturing to a dark green color, the shade of which depends on the light it is growing under
Venation:
· The veins are sparkly silver.
Petiole:
· The petioles are D-shaped (flat on one side).
This is an F1 Seedling.
MEET THE F1 GENERATION MOTHER PLANTS:
From these seedlings I selected the seven most vigorous plants showing purple and purple/raspberry emergents as that is what I wanted to breed this cross for. I grew them to full maturity as these became my new F1 generation mother plants: Anthurium Red Raspberry #1 - #7 .
(#4 is not shown because I decided to cull it after a year due to lack of vigor. I was experimenting with keeping one petite sized mother plant in an effort to reduce plant size in subsequent breeding batches, but it ended up being a weaker plant than the others and i don’t have time for that)!
THE F2 GENERATION IS HERE!
After two years of growing and breeding the F1 mother plants, the Anthurium Red Raspberry F2 babies have arrived in the summer of 2025. They are the improved, second-generation cross of Anthurium Red Raspberry F1. The F2 generation maintains the same vigor as the original but more consistently exhibits the highly desirable bold purple and purple-raspberry emergent leaves. This consistency is due to all seven F1 mother plants being selected specifically for their purple/raspberry emergent coloration.
The original F1 Anthurium Red Raspberry was created by crossing my NSE Tropicals Red Crystallinum with my Doc Block ZaraxMichelle. The Red Crystallinum parent descends from the Wonderboy hybrid developed by the late Tim Anderson.
Only healthy offspring with desirable emergent coloration will be made available for sale.
Young plants are shipped in my premium anthurium mix, which features high-quality ingredients inoculated with beneficial microbes. This ensures your plant arrives strong and ready to grow. I also use beneficial insects extensively for pest prevention.
Red Raspberry F2 1×5
Here are a few of the crosses I have available. I also have 2x5 and 3x1 coming soon!
All plants will be available on my website and on my Etsy shop as they are available to be posted.
Please be patient. Because I post individual plants, it takes time to photograph each one and respond to each customer. I only have the capacity to post and ship a handful each week. For this reason as well, I recommend that if you see one that you like, you grab it, as it may sell out quickly.
