Alocasia Chaii Plant- Rare, Grown from SEED (not corm)
This listing is for a young Alocasia chaii plant, grown from seed, grower's choice. Examples of a plant you may receive are in the first two photos. These rare smooth, minty-turquoise Alocasia chaii were grown from SEED (not corm) from my robust mother plant that I have owned for 5 years (shown in the third and fourth photos). She was self-pollinated in one of my grow tents for the SECOND time this year! This is an absolutely stunning, mid-size, humidity-loving Alocasia species that produce the most wild looking, shiny, red-speckled spathes (the modified leaf that covers the flowers).
Growers choice- I will pick the largest and most round and beautiful for you.
For more information about my Alocasia hybridizing and breeding work visit https://www.alltheplantbabies.com/alocasia
More available on my website www.alltheplantbabies.com/shop
NOTE: These are not imported and therefore are well established plants with less risk of stress from travel. They are growing in aroid mix in a prop box in 100% humidity currently so acclimate slowly to lower humidity.
Care: this species of Alocasia is very easy to keep happy as long as you do two things:
Keep in high humidity, over 60%
Grow it in moist sphagnum moss (change moss every 8-12 months to keep pH level up) or, as I would recommend, grow it semi-hydroponically in fluval stratum/ perlite or pon.
SHIPPING OPTIONS:
- All Anthuriums and Alocasias will ship UPS 2 day because this is the safest shipping option for plants which are delicate and highly prone to heat and cold damage due to postal delays (which sadly occur more often than you would like to think when using slower mail services such as USPS Priority).
- LOCAL PICKUP: Local pickup in Oak Park, IL available. First purchase the item from me so it doesn't sell out, then message me to arrange pickup at my home office. I will refund you for shipping when you pick it up!
-US SHIPPING DAYS: I ship Monday and Tuesday from right outside Chicago (and Wed and Sat on rare occasions).
