Anthurium Papillilaminum ‘Fort Sherman’ x Self “premium” Mid Cut - Jay Vannini

$200.00

Anthurium Papillilaminum ‘Fort Sherman’ x Self “premium color” mid cut with two growth points purchased directly from Jay Vannini. The plant this cut came from cost $1200. Jay is the plantsman who first wild collected the ‘Fort Sherman’ Papillilaminum specimen at the northern end of the Panama Canal and then self pollinated the specimen to make this plant for which there is a cutting for sale, here .

You will get the exact cutting in the first three photos. It is currently growing in perlite in a prop box (you can see the perlite on the rhizome and roots in the photos.

The second to last photo is Jay showing me the plant as a seedling, and the last photo is his Fort Sherman next to this specimen as a seedling. You will be buying a cutting of the grown plant which is now fully chopped up.

Full description of Anthurium Fort Sherman can be found here.

This will ship in moist sphagnum moss to keep the shipping weight down and protect the plant’s roots.

NOTE: Anthurium Butt Cuts and Mid Cuts (rhizome cuts/ stem cuts) are not for beginners. Know how to grow them or at least the risk before buying this. For tips on how to grow them however, please see the Anthurium Highlights on my Instagram for my video on Anthurium Butt Cuts. I recommend perlite in a semi-hydro growing set-up in a prop-box, maintaining pH between 5.5-6.5. Or, grow it in moist sphagnum moss in a prop-box at 100% humidity until a full new root system and new leaves are formed then slowly transition it to lower humidity. This plant likes 70-80% humidity.
